Hello there!
I am Ana Sofia Abbud, Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist
A little about myself :

-
I love food and I want you to learn to love it as well.

I got into nutrition as a teenager when dealing with my own health issues. It was during this time that I truly understood the immense power food holds in shaping our health. Determined to spread awareness, I started my path of studying Human Nutrition, driven by the desire to share this vital message with the world!
My Story:
I have this very vivid memory of sitting at the dinning table, eating one of my favorite foods, beans. While eating my meal, of course, I was worried that the meal would be "fattening" so I asked my mom if beans would make me gain weight. Luckily for me, my mom said no (phew!), otherwise I am sure I would have stopped eating beans for a good while.

Growing up, my relationship with food was filled with anxiety. I constantly worried over every bite, fearing it would affect my weight. It wasn't until I confronted my own health issues that I realized the profound impact nutrition has on our well-being. That's when food became more like a ally for me, it wasn't only about losing or gaining weight anymore. This awakening spurred me to dive deeper into the world of food, driven by a mission to share my newfound knowledge with others.

Originally from Mexico, I ventured to Denver in 2009 and pursued a degree in Human Nutrition.

Diving into my studies, I soaked up every bit of information, excited to unlock the full potential of nutrition.

My educational journey culminated in a transformative Nutrition Internship in Puerto Rico, where I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of food in promoting health and vitality.

As a bilingual individual, I navigate between English and Spanish, breaking down language barriers and fostering understanding among diverse cultures. Over the past five years, I've served as a Clinical Dietitian, specializing in diabetes care. Through my work, I've encountered thousands individuals dealing with fear and misinformation surrounding food.

My mission is clear: to debunk myths and empower others to embrace food as a vital tool for health and happiness. Rejecting the notion of restrictive diets as a lifelong sentence, I advocate for a balanced approach to nutrition that celebrates the joy of eating while nourishing both body and soul.

For me, food is more than sustenance—it's a gateway to culture, connection, and joy. Given that managing food is a daily reality for individuals with diabetes, our journey with nutrition becomes even more significant and impactful. I want to help you recognizing the vital role it plays in maintaining your health and managing your condition effectively.
